My Story

I am currently a sophomore in the College of Medicine program at the University of Cincinnati studying Public Health. Over the last couple of years, I have been involved in a couple of organizations on campus. I have been involved with Eta Sigma Gamma as a non-executive member and the Black Arts Collaborative poetry department on campus. While being involved, I have helped with conducting food drives and assemble safe sex packages for Caracole on campus. To add onto that, I have participated in the Gotcha Covered program at the University of Cincinnati. With participating it gave me the opportunity to promote safe sex, by handing out condoms on campus. I have also obtained my certification in Mental Health First Aid. My focus in my career is mental health. So, after graduation, I hope to go to grad school and obtain my master's in social work. With this I hope to become either a Wellness and Recovery Specialist or a Mental Health Counselor. With this I hope to make a difference in individuals' mental health, so that they live a healthy lifestyle. I really enjoy living life prioritizing holistic wellness and I achieve this in my own life. To practice this, I participate in many activities like painting, reading and writing. I truly believe these activities drive creativity and better mental health.
